Introducing Camden Workshop, a one-of-a-kind shoot location. Architecturally designed by McLaren Excell, this Kentish Town industrial workshop has been creatively reimagined as a contemporary, 6,500 sq ft home. Uniquely, this location has spaces that could be anywhere in the world.
You’re welcomed into an open-plan, kitchen, dining and living space, with a blend of industrial and mid-century interior design. A large kitchen with an island sits opposite a generous seating area, with a long corner lounge and pops of vintage orange tones.
Adjacent to this space is a warm-toned, wood panelled hallway, with Dinesen timber flooring and a natural finish. The space is uniquely characterised by its cinematic curves and eye-catching opening onto a second living area. In the hallway, colourful art brightens up the warmth of the walls, flooring and lighting - and an internal lift provides ease of transporting equipment to and from the ground floor.
With a warehouse-feel, the ground floor is defined by polished concrete - smooth, durable, and beautifully light-reflective - contrasting perfectly with the texture of the upper floor. A highlight of this space is its corner lounge chair, sitting beneath a skylight. This level also features a dining table with drop-down curtains, which can create a separate enclosed area. Filling the space with light, a large glass sliding door leads onto the south-facing garden, characterfully filled with natural greenery, a small summerhouse and beehives.
Back upstairs, connected to the hallway are five modern bathrooms, designed with refined materials. One bathroom includes a built-in sauna, available for use during shoots if required. Four bedrooms are also featured, with sleek minimalist detailing, warm materials, and natural light.
Designed with a combination of raw materials, modern elements, bespoke joinery and creative accents, Camden Workshop has a distinctive balance of strength and calm.
