Meet Austen, one of our most beloved historic location houses set just outside of London in the beautiful county of rural Surrey.

A huge country home that’s set out over multiple floors Austen is not only one of our biggest shoot locations, but our oldest too. Steeped in centuries of history with a Tudor structure and Georgian sash windows it’s hard to ignore the stunning period features exhibited in each of the spacious rooms. The ample room provided by the property makes for the perfect blank canvas to bring your shoot to life. There’s plenty of space to accommodate large crews and equipment storage is available in the outbuildings and cellar.

The ground floor of this remarkable period shoot location boasts two grand reception rooms both with dark original wood flooring, panelled walls, Victorian bay windows, working fireplaces and decorative cornicing that crowns the room and light fittings. Choose between the properties two kitchens, with an adjoining dining room that features a library wall. The home has seven bedrooms in total, with the two largest situated on the second floor. Within the bedrooms you’ll find exposed radiators, dado rails lining the walls and original fireplaces dating back to the Georgian and Victorian era. The master bedroom hosts the ever-popular wood panelled wall that is decorated in Farrow & Ball, much like the rest of the property.

If you’re looking for something a little more atmospheric head up to the attic rooms for a more intimate sense of space. One of Austen’s four bathrooms can be found on the top floor, complete with a roll top bath and original flooring. There are also a number of unfurnished rooms that can be decorated to fit any creative brief.

The locations outside space complement the impressive nature of the interior. The property has a range of of Victorian outbuildings and converted stables, a manicured croquet lawn, mature tree’s, flowerbeds, a large henhouse and a vegetable garden adjacent to the kitchen .
